Social Studies The Social Studies NCFE is on May 31st. Scholars are studying the Middle Ages. We will look at the feudal system in Europe and compare it to the other social systems in ancient times. A key focus is on the Crusades, feudal system, the Bubonic Plague, and rebuilding after the collapse since 2/3 of the population contracted the Plague and died. We will also survey the Miso-American civilizations of the Aztecs, Incas, and Mayas, as well as the African Kingdoms and Asian Dynasties that began at during the Middle Ages.We will spend the weeks from May 14th to the end of the month, reviewing for the NCFE, along with basic test-taking strategies. Scholars will create a proficiency chart that illustrates the standards they need more practice on prior to the final exam. We will also do several in class review games to activate their prior knowledge from earlier in the year. Please refer to the NCDPI web site, or the link the top of my web site for test specifications/suggestions for review. Because our standards are conceptual and assessed year-long, as opposed to individually, the review for this exam tends to be challenging. Please refer to the review guides since 5,000 years of world history is assessed in only 42 questions.
